Greg McCurry Obituary Wichita, Kansas Death: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Greg McCurry, a respected Kansas cattleman, devoted family man, renowned Angus breeder, and dedicated advocate for the beef industry. Greg passed away in 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to the Angus breed.
A third-generation Angus breeder, Greg spent his life working alongside his brothers to build and expand McCurry Bros. Angus into a highly respected operation consisting of more than 500 head of cattle and diverse crop production. His influence on the Angus industry extended far beyond Kansas. Through the partnership ownership of the legendary sire TC Dividend 963, Greg helped shape cattle genetics across the nation. By the time of the bull’s passing in 2000, TC Dividend 963 had produced more than 11,000 progeny in nearly 1,700 herds and consistently ranked among the breed’s most influential sires.
Greg was passionate about promoting the Angus breed and helping others succeed. He served on the American Angus Association Board of Directors from 2021 to 2024 and was a former president of the Kansas Angus Association. He welcomed breeders and families through events such as the National Angus Tour and the National Junior Angus Show, creating lasting connections throughout the industry.
An accomplished livestock evaluator, Greg judged cattle shows in more than 40 states, including the 2021 National Junior Angus Show. Together with his beloved wife of 49 years, Pamela Jo, he found great joy in watching their children and grandchildren grow and compete in the show ring.
